Aeroflow Breastpumps, a breast pump supplier of free or reduced-cost breast pumps, has teamed up with UK-based Elvie brand to bring its hands-free breast pumps to US customers.
The highly coveted breast pump has a current wait list of 30,000 people. It retails for $499 for a double unit and $279 for a single unit. As an Aeroflow Breastpumps option, expectant and nursing moms can now qualify to receive it for free.

Under the Affordable Care Act, most health care plans must cover necessary breastfeeding supplies, including pumps. Aeroflow Breastpumps works with major plans to provide free or reduced cost products from brands including Medela, Spectra, and now Elvie. Women can apply to receive the supplies while pregnant or after giving birth.
The Elvie breast pump is an entirely hands-free product that fits inside any nursing bra. It is also almost completely silent, making it a fully discreet product. The technology promises to support moms’ breastfeeding journeys with a promise of “no tubes, no wires, no noise.”
Other features include an app that monitors milk volume, pumping history and remote control of the pump.
The new technology and excitement around the product recently earned the company $42 million in Series B funding. This is the largest investment in history in the femtech category.
“We are confident there is a demand for innovation to outdated pumping technology,” Tania Boler, Founder and CEO of Elvie, said in a recent press release. “Elvie is focused on creating solutions to the issues that matter most to women, and we’re excited to bring an entirely new pumping experience to moms across the United States.”
On behalf of Aeroflow Breastpumps, Jennifer Jordan, the supplier’s Healthcare Director of Mom & Baby, said in a statement that the company “is thrilled to broaden access to the Elvie Pump for breastfeeding women across the country,” adding, “it’s exciting to see innovation in the technology and supplies that our moms are using daily, and we believe deeply in offering these resources through insurance in order to make them more readily available.”
Women can find out if they qualify for free supplies by submitting an insurance form on the Aeroflow Breastpumps website.
