In celebration of Batman’s 80th anniversary, Epic Games has announced the debut of Fortnite X Batman. Despite Batman Day being limited to September 21, Fortnite has fans celebrating a while longer with DC Comics-inspired updates added to their gameplay.
“A Rift Zone has brought Gotham City to Fortnite,” the Fortnite Team said on their official blog. “Of course, it wouldn’t be Gotham City if villainy didn’t come along with it. This [place of interest] lets you be the hero the citizens of Gotham City need by giving you your own Batman cape and the power of Glider Redeploy.”
One of the main features of Fornite X Batman is the addition of Gotham City, which is temporarily replacing Tilted Town. Players can access Wayne Tower, a bat signal in the air, and the ability to use redeploy, a grappler and an explosive Batarang. They can also build in the DC Comics-inspired map, a feature not seen in Tilted Town.

Various Batman-related items are available for purchase, but don’t offer a competitive advantage in-game. The Batman Caped Crusader Pack includes two Batman skins, matching bling capes, a pickaxe and glider. A Catwoman skin is also for sale, equipped with a pickaxe and unique styles. Players can shop the collection until October 6.
Between now and the end of the collaboration, Fortnite players have the chance to complete challenges to earn different awards, such as a Catwing glider, sprays, and banners.
In addition to Fortnite X Batman, Epic Games also announced six Batman games can be procured for free on the Epic Games store.
The complete Batman Arkham trilogy will also be available. Parents be aware: it may not be suitable for younger users due to violent content. More age-appropriate would be the complete LEGO Batman series. All six games will be available until September 26.
