Count us fans of webcams that give a glimpse into the lives of creatures around the globe. So we were thrilled when we learned that, though closed to the public, several zoos and aquariums are continuing to share feeds of their resident animals. The Cincinnati Zoo is even kicking off a daily webcam show (details below). So we thought we’d share some of our favorite personalities that can be viewed via US zoo webcams and attractions.
Cheetah Cub Cuteness
Echo, a cheetah at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute in Front Royal, Virginia, gave birth to four cubs on April 8. Lucky for us, that means we get to see the cubs in all their cuteness via a live cam. Keep tuning in daily to check in on the cubs’ growth, which is known to be quite rapid — they grow about 50 grams per day!

Hippo Happiness
Starting today, the Cincinnati Zoo will be featuring a daily webcam of some of its famous residents. Among them, Fiona, the Hippo. Yes, that’s the cheeky Fiona below, about to give her mom a surprise from behind.

“While the Cincinnati Zoo is closed and kids are home from school, let us help make your children’s hiatus from school fun and educational,” the zoo’s Facebook page announced. “Join us for a Home Safari Facebook Live each weekday at 3 pm EDT where we will highlight one of our amazing animals and include an activity you can do from home. Join us starting Monday, March 16 at 3 pm EDT for our first Home Safari- featuring Fiona!”

Rhino Baby Love
Last April, Iowa’s Blank Park Zoo announced their Eastern Black Rhino, Ayana, had given birth to a daughter, Kamara, a name which means moonlight. One video we can’t stop binge-watching — bath time at the Blank Park Zoo. Kamara isn’t the only rhino who stole our hearts.
We’ve also been glued to Lincoln Park Zoo’s #Rhinowatch from the moment it was announced Kapuki, a rare Eastern Black Rhino was pregnant. After a 15-month-pregnancy, Kapuki gave birth to Romeo, who quickly became a focal point on #RhinoWatch.

Monkeying Around
As babies go, San Diego Zoo’s Bonobo Belle is entertaining to say the least. She’s not alone, though. The zoo has 11 live cam areas including those featuring baboons, penguins, pandas, polar bears, apes, koalas, elephants, giraffes, owls, tigers and California Condors.
