Of all the things that COVID-19 has made more difficult this year, having a baby must be one of the most challenging. That’s true even for pregnant celebrities, as pop star Katy Perry demonstrated over the weekend. Celebrating both a new album and the birth of her daughter, the singer took to Instagram to share a post-pregnancy look, complete with a nursing bra and postpartum underwear.
A Big Week for Katy Perry
Between the arrival of her new baby, Daisy Dove Bloom, and the release of her new album Smile, Perry has had quite the week. She and her fiancé, actor Orlando Bloom, welcomed the newborn on Wednesday, August 26 — two days before the album’s release.
“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” the couple said in an Instagram post.
Perry first celebrated by releasing music videos for the songs “Champagne Problems” and “Tucked” from the new album. She also posted a pre-pregnancy clip of herself from the “Champagne Problems” video on Instagram.
“🎶Allllll weee goooot arre #ChampagneProblems nowwe 🎶 🍾🥂 Listen to Champagne Problems to get your pre-baby body back 😩,” Perry jokingly wrote in the caption.
The Post-Pregnancy Snapshot
However, it was an Instagram story of Perry’s post-baby body that really grabbed attention on Sunday, August 30. In the candid shot, Perry captured herself in the mirror wearing a nude-colored nursing bra and grey maternity panties.

“Bra by @medela_us […] Underwear by @fridamom,” Perry wrote on the image. “Hair n makeup by: @exhaustion.”
Perry set the image to another song from her new album, “Not the End of the World.” The song features timely lyrics about maintaining hope in the face of adversity. It’s a message we could all use right now, even those who aren’t juggling a new baby and a soaring musical career.
