Today may seem like just another Monday or week of quarantine, but for Stars Wars fans, it’s a day to celebrate. May 4th, popularly known as Star Wars Day, has fans marathoning the franchise’s films, donning their gear, and of course, taking every opportunity possible to say “May the 4th be with you.”
The tradition began with fans to celebrate their love of Star Wars because “May the Fourth” and “May the Force” rhyme. When Disney acquired Lucasfilm, the extravagant celebrations began, including Star Wars-themed fireworks and shows at their parks and discounted merchandise. While fans can’t go out to congregate and cosplay as they typically could, there are still plenty of ways to celebrate from the comfort of your very own home.
