People are constantly getting more creative in quarantine. Case in point: social media users, celebrities, and everyday folks are upgrading their wardrobe mid-quarantine with the ‘shopping bag challenge’ — and it’s gone viral. This challenge has users repurposing their shopping bags and showcasing their creativity on Instagram.
However, instead of turning to their bed, users are taking to their closet and trash piles to unleash their inner-fashionista for the #shoppingbagchallenge.

In recent weeks, Instagram has seen a slew of challenges pop up on feeds. Notable, the pillow dress challenge had social media users turning comfort pieces into couture. Yes, social media users of all ages used pillows and comforters straight from their beds and used them as outfits.
Many are using designer totes for makeshift outfits with a designer label, from Dior and Chanel to Marc Jacobs. Others use labelless paper bags or eco-friendly totes.

Some are making use of the handles already on the bags, turning them into collars and halter straps. Other challenge-takers are using ribbons and belts to keep themselves covered, much like the pillow dress challenge.
While we most likely will never see such fashion in the aisles of our local grocery store, they are providing much-needed comic relief on social media feeds this past week.
