The classic question of “If you had three wishes, what would you wish for?” may leave many stumped. For a child in Oklahoma foster care, however, the answer came easy during his now-viral video interview — “a family, and family, family.” Back in July, nine-year-old Jordan answered the question in an interview with FOX 59. Now, he has received more than 5,000 adoption application submissions.
“The reason [having a family is] important is so I could have some people to talk to any time I need to,” Jordan added, explaining his answer. “I hope one of y’all pick me.”
Fox 4 reports that the child’s plea resulted in hundreds of individuals around the country expressing interest in adopting Jordan.
Six Years in Foster Care

After six years in foster care, Jordan is hopeful he’ll meet his new family soon. Three years ago, the same news station also featured Jordan and his biological brother, Braison. At the time, the boys were living in separate foster homes.
According to the interview, Braison was adopted out of foster care last year. In the past, a couple of families were interested in adopting Jordan, but eventually decided not to move forward with adoption.
An employee working on Jordan’s case, Christoper Marlowe, is optimistic as he reads through the new submissions.
“I’m really excited about this and very hopeful this is going to be the breakthrough we needed to find this kid a home,” said Marlowe.
