There have been months of disturbing news stories, followed by a week of directives that have left many of us shell-shocked at how our lives can change in a flash. While many are stocking up on essentials and hunkering down, others are looking to enhance this new normalcy, from binge-watching television lists to indoor games. Enter, Virtual Spirit Week.
Grab Some Spirit!
School districts around the country are making sure students stay connected, and in touch with school spirit, by hosting Virtual Spirit Week on their Facebook pages. Most schools have their own take on the week, with some devoting days to crazy hairdos and others dressing up as favorite superheroes.

Here’s what Plano CUSD in Plano, Texas said about the challenge on their website:
“Let’s have a little virtual fun this week! PATT created a virtual spirit week for Monday-Friday, March 16-20.
- Monday – Spring Colors Day (wear spring colors today)
- Tuesday – Green Day (wear green for St. Patrick’s Day)
- Wednesday – Pajama Day (wear your favorite PJ’s)
- Thursday – Crazy Hair Day (let’s see the craziest hairdo)
- Friday – Purple Pride Day (wear your favorite spirit wear or purple clothing)
To participate all you have to do is take a photo of your child and post it with their name in PATT’s Facebook thread each day, Plano PATT. During Spring Break, PATT will draw a winner from those who participated. The winner will receive an Amazon Alexa-Enabled Speaker. Good luck!”
Of course, Parentology had to get in on the fun, too, with our own selfie days.

Though you may have missed the challenges from Monday and Tuesday, there’s still time to don your fave footie pajamas, rat out that hair-do and style in purple. Hey, we’re all about choosing your own way to express your spirit.
