“Shit happens.”
That’s what popular YouTuber Gage Gillean said after crashing his father’s Pagani Huayra Roadster in Dallas, Texas on November 17. Gage lost control of the vehicle and slammed it into a tree, leaving it in pieces all over the roadside. Although the one-of-a-kind hypercar was obliterated in the car wreck, the 17-year-old Gage suffered only minor injuries.
“I lost control. We hit the curb, we caught air, we went off the ground and flew into the tree,” Gage said in one of his YouTube videos. “The doors flew off when we hit the tree. It was honestly the scariest thing of my life.”
Hypercars are considered to be the most superior cars on the market, and they make up only 1% of cars worldwide. Naturally, they cost a fortune. Gage’s dad, Tim Gillean, founder of Dallas-based private equity firm Cross Equities, purchased the Pagani in June for a cool $3.4 million.

“Shit happens,” Gage wrote in an Instagram story. “Thanking God for a second chance at life. Crash could’ve left [me] with worse injuries or even death.” Gage also posted photos of the wreck as well as a pic of himself with his arm in a sling.
In addition to his presence on Instagram, Gage is a YouTube personality whose channel GG Exotics boasts 100,000 subscribers. If you check it out, you’ll find videos of Gage and his friends doing everything from writing songs to getting tattoos, to picking up an UBER rider in the Pagani that eventually got trashed. There are also prank videos in which Gage spray paints his dad’s Rolls Royce and puts sticky notes all over his dad’s fleet of high-end sports cars.
The latest video chronicles Gage’s trip to the Bahamas where he and his friends enjoy a stay on Tim Gillean’s new $20,000,000 mega yacht.
How did the senior Gillean react to his son’s crash and to the massacre of one of his expensive toys? “He’s upset,” said Gage. “That’s a loss of a car, but thank god my son is alive. That’s what my dad went through. I’m thankful to be able to see my dad again.”
Looking at the photos of the accident scene, it’s hard to imagine how Gage walked away with only a fractured arm. The car is crumpled like an accordion, one of the wheels is ripped off, and the bodywork is shredded.
“A car is replaceable,” Gage said in one of his videos. “I’m not replaceable.”
While Gillean pulled down his flippant videos about the incident, he has replaced them with this one where he talks about the accident. Only time will tell if this reaction impacts his fanbase, but as he says, “I don’t care what the haters think.”
