With so many TikTok trends flooding the web daily, it can get difficult to keep track of which ones are good, clean fun and which ones lean into the risqué. After all, for every innocent “catfish challenge” there’s a sultry “silhouette challenge” to match. The new “Bugs Bunny” TikTok trend might seem more like the former at first, but some users are taking the trend in a more adult direction.
In its original form, the Bugs Bunny challenge seems harmless enough. Users lie flat on their bellies in front of the camera , raising up their legs so their feet stick up over their heads like rabbit ears.
The challenge uses a remix of the song “Gucci” by Russian musicians Timati and Egor Kreed, which prominently features the words “Bugs Bunny” at one point.
Initially, participants of the trend simply moved their feet to the beat of the music, resulting in a cute and perfectly innocent new challenge for users.
A TikTok Trend Turns Naughty
However, over time some TikTokers have begun adding a twist to the end of their videos. Just before the video cuts off, many users have started showing off more than just their socks, pushing their behinds up for a final sensual pose.
Both versions of the trend have gained wild viral success on TikTok. The hashtag #bugsbunnychallenge has been viewed more 9.4 million times on the social media platform. Meanwhile, the “Gucci” sound clip has been used in over 163,000 videos, with the vast majority participating in the viral challenge.
It’s not just ladies taking the Bugs Bunny challenge either. Some dudes are also taking to TikTok to put their own spin on the trend.
Even Egor Kreed himself, one of the artists behind the original “Gucci” song, couldn’t resist taking part in the challenge that his music inspired.
