Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so why not celebrate the season of love with your kids in a fun, artsy and educational way? Outschool can help. This week, the site is offering a number of interactive, love-themed classes—many teaching Valentine’s Day crafts for kids.
Outschool is an online learning platform for kids from three to 18 years old. The site offers over 10,000 live classes teaching a variety of skills, from advanced high school math to beginner piano-playing. Classes are taught by Outschool’s carefully vetted teachers and are conducted over video chat in an intimate, small-group type of setting. Some classes meet regularly, such as every week or month, while others meet only once.
Signing up for an account on Outschool online is free. Enrollment starts as low as $5 per class.
Here are some Valentine’s Day-themed classes Outschool is offering to its members this week.
Drawing and Card-Making
In “Learn How to Draw Dangles by Making a Colorful Valentine,” attendees ages 8 to 12 can create a beautiful Valentine’s Day card for a loved one by drawing decorative dangles — beautifully illustrated strings of charms used to decorate letters, shapes, and objects — of their very own.
Valentine Science Experiment
For aspiring scientists, Outschool has a one-time “Valentine Science Lab Experiment.” In the half-hour class, kids ages 3 to 9 will conduct an experiment using candy hearts to find out whether their hypotheses about the candy were correct.
Mini Valentine’s Day Chocolates
Calling all kids who love all things little: tune in to “Let’s Make Polymer Clay Miniatures: Valentine’s Day Chocolates!” This hour-long course for ages 10 to 15 will teach attendees how to craft a mini box of chocolates. By the end, kids will have an adorable (and delectable-looking) miniature of their own.
Don’t forget to slow down and show some love to the one that matters most: yourself. The 45-minute “Self-Love Valentine Craft Project and Chat” class helps those enrolled discover their strengths and what they love most about themselves—all while creating a Valentine’s Day craft. Available for kids from 1 to 8 years-old.
