A man is being charged with manslaughter after authorities say he shot Victoria “Tori” Lynn Busch, 19, in Panama City Beach, Florida. The suspect, Spencer Chase Pruitt, 24, is claiming it was an accident after he was playing with the gun as a game.
“He points his firearm at friends and pulls the trigger, but it does not fire,” the affidavit, obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, states. “On this date, in his own statement, he stated he always does and does not know why his gun fired a round this time.”
Last Monday, he was playing the game at a beach condo when the gun fired and hit Busch, who was visiting friends. Authorities were called to the condo, where they found Busch with a gunshot wound to the neck. She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Pruit was booked into the Bay County Jail on $200,000 bond and is charged with one count of manslaughter.
Family friends launched a GoFundMe campaign to help assist Busch’s family. According to the campaign, Busch was attending Georgia Northwestern Technical College to pursue a career in welding.
Family friend Linda Corriveau described Busch as a well-loved upbeat girl with a bubbly, free spirit.
“She was just a good girl that brought happiness to a lot of people and was such a positive in everyone’s lives,” Corriveau said to Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
