Every week, a new viral trend seems to hit TikTok feeds. One week it’s challenges like the Tripping Jump Challenge which resulted in injury, the next there’s mysterious TikTok cults. This week, two versions of the “Vogue Challenge” are battling it out as they trend on the social media platform.
“Every Day Is Leg Day” on TikTok
If you’re familiar with comedy skits where one person uses the arms or legs of the person hiding behind them to perform a task, this TikTok trend will look familiar. Set to RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Naomi Small’s song “Legs,” TikTok users are creating optical illusions by placing someone behind them and acting as if that person’s legs are actually their own.
The song says, “They tried to put me on the cover of Vogue... but my legs were too long.” TikTok users took the lyric as a challenge — the longer the “legs,” the better:
Tokio Hotel’s Bill Kaulitz went viral after he used some quite popular legs — his sister-in-law and model Heidi Klum’s — to complete the challenge.
Vogue Magazine Challenge
In another version of the Vogue challenge, TikTok users are making their own covers of the fashion magazine. In this version of the challenge, they put their fashion, beauty, editing, and photography skills to the test as they star as the cover models. To complete their dream covers, they add the iconic Vogue logo.
Videos usually use an audio clip from “Out West” by Travis Scott and JACKBOYS as multiple “Vogue covers” flash on the screen.
While most chose to star in their own Vogue covers, others got a bit more creative with their cover models. TikTok user @neighborsgirls chose to showcase her dog in her take on the challenge:
