When Christmas rolls around, finding the perfect gift for your loved ones can be stressful. What’s worse is the face they make when they open their gift and react in the most unexpected way. We’ve compiled the best Christmas gift reactions of past years just in time for the holiday. And by best, we also mean worst.
The first of these Christmas gift reactions features a little boy’s reaction, and it went viral in 2015. The idea was to give the boy a trick gift — something he wouldn’t want — but his reaction surprised and delighted everyone. The original video was posted to Vine, the former short-form video hosting service that was discontinued in 2017. Before it’s demise, this six-second clip made it to other social media platforms. Now, the clip has more than 40 million views on YouTube.
“It’s an Avocado!… Thanks!”
Jimmy Kimmel’s YouTube Challenge
Jimmy Kimmel took matters into his hands one year with gift-giving in mind. In 2011, Kimmel asked the parents of America to play a little holiday trick on their kids right before Christmas. He told parents to give their kids a terrible Christmas present and record their reaction.
Here are the best Christmas gift reactions he received:
The fun didn’t end there. Kimmel continued to receive videos from parents after the holiday festivities were over. Naturally, Kimmel created a second compilation, “YouTube Challenge – I Gave My Kids a Terrible Present PART 2”
And, for those that didn’t make the cut or their submissions came too late. Here are a few more terrible presents that got the best reactions.
“I Don’t Need Toothpaste!”
And, don’t get it twisted. Landon got Pull-ups.
“That’s My Own Mustard!”
These boys are grateful for their gifts. Most of all, they were happy to get a toilet paper roll and mustard of their own.
These were all fun and games, but the next ones are tear-jerkers…
