One of the biggest events in children’s animation last year was the premiere of Doug Unplugs on Apple TV+. The DreamWorks Animation series is based on Dan Yaccarino’s critically-acclaimed children’s book, and both parents and preschoolers alike adored going on adventures with Doug and his best-bud Emma. Now part 2 of Doug Unplugs Season 1 is premiering on April 2, and DreamWorks Animation has given an exclusive clip for Parentology readers.
About Doug Unplugs Season 1, Part 2
In the first part of Season 1, curious six-year-old robot/boy Doug “unplugged” from his robot world and journeyed into the human world so he could experience life rather than simply learn about it at home. There he met his new best friend, a human ball of energy named Emma, and the two took off to discover all the simple wonders this world has to offer.
“This is a show that’s all about the importance of balancing tech with experience,” executive producer Jim Nolan tells Parentology. “Tech isn’t going anywhere and it obviously has a lot of great aspects to it, so this show is about embracing that technology but using it to fuel curiosity and to encourage kids to go out and have an experience.”
The second season features seven new episodes. In them, Doug, Emma, and friends explore the intersection of technology and humanity, and how they both keep us truly connected.

Doug Unplugs Part 2 Exclusive Clip
In this exclusive clip, Emma tries to teach Doug and the gang about a new game: soccer. But sometimes what’s basic to us humans is a little hard to grasp for folks from the robot world.
Part 2 of Doug Unplugs Season 1 premieres on Apple TV+ on April 2 with seven new episodes. Aliki Theofilopoulos (Harvey Girls Forever!, Descendants: Wicked World) and Jim Nolan (Charlie’s Colorforms City, Nella the Princess Knight) produced the show for DreamWorks Animation.
