Teenage drag racing isn’t something you hear about too often, but when it does hit the news, it hits BIG! Case in point: A Florida teenager was severely injured over the weekend when the Lexus he was driving in a drag race went airborne and flipped. The footage was captured by a CCTV security camera.
According to CBS Miami, teenagers could be seen casually driving down a residential road in Naples, Florida. Moments later, the two vehicles drove back down the street toward the camera at breakneck speed. They get side-by-side, but the teen driving a Lexus RX lost control. After cruising through a few front drives, the SUV hit the driveway lip and launched into the air.
In the footage below, the Lexus is seen flipping over until it crashes back down onto its roof. The post-accident photo below shows the roof completely crushed in. As one local noted, “I thought it was amazing anyone came out of there alive.”

There are conflicting reports about whether there was one or two teenagers in the Lexus RX, or if it was two teenagers — one in each vehicle. It is clear that emergency responders took the driver to the hospital and he only sustained some broken ribs. If there was a passenger, he or she is fine.
