Get ready for high-flying fantasy adventures with Viking twins Dak and Leyla in the new DreamWorks Jr. animated series Dragons Rescue Riders. The series premieres on Netflix this Friday, September 27, but Parentology has been given this exclusive 4-minute preview for parents and kids to check out now.
Dak and Leyla live in a faraway corner of the Viking and dragon world, but when tragedy strikes the two are rescued and raised by friendly dragons. The siblings grow up learning to speak the dragons’ language and become a part of their extended family. Now, along with young dragons Winger, Summer, Cutter and Burple, the group defends and protects other dragons on exciting adventures around their home of Huttsgalor.
The series is part of the How to Train Your Dragon franchise, but aimed at younger kids than the current movies or TV series. We loved the trailer when it came out, and this clip has made us even more excited because, let’s face it, we’re all kids at heart. This is the kind of family-friendly adventure show you don’t often see on mainstream TV. The animation is slick, the stories and characters are super engaging, and the action is exciting enough to keep everyone engaged.
And if that wasn’t enough for you, those dragons are really cute!
In the clip below, an invisible dragon that shoots green slime is bothering the locals, so the Rescue Riders have their hands (and wings) full. Watch as they battle the Phantom Fang, then tune in to DreamWorks’ Dragons Rescue Riders when it starts streaming on Netflix this Friday, September 27.
