Yep, we were insta-fans. And not just because Amory Vargo was peddling Girl Scout Cookies (Thin Mints! Holla!). This girl has mad skills when it comes to business acumen. For the past few years, she’s taken to YouTube to promote her sweet confections complete with videos. This year’s remix of Lizzo’s ‘Truth Hurts’ had us jammin’ and ordering up a box or two. “I’ll take one Samoa, one, Trefoil…”
The nine-year-old Girl Scout from Westerville, Ohio came up with superb lyrics.
“She played around with a few popular songs before landing on this one, but when she thought of it the lyrics just started flowing,” her mother Samantha told Today. “It was pretty easy for her to piece it together once the ball started rolling. “

There is a lot to work with considering there are 6 Girl Scout Cookie staples on the menu this year along with two different lemon versions — Lemon-Ups and Lemonades (Beyonce, there could be a video in your future) and Girl Scout S’mores –that vary depending on which state purchasers live in. Faves to order: Thin Mints, Trefoils, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Thanks-A-Lot, Toffee-tastic and Caramel Chocolate Chip.

What’s on the order list: Samoas, which got their own celeb approach last year when Girl Scout Charlotte Holmberg of Highlands Ranch, Colorado dubbed these particular confections Jason Momoas and graced the boxes with a photo of the Aquaman star. Another celeb who’s featured prominently annual Girl Scout Cookie sales — Jennifer Garner.

The famous Girl Scout leader is not beyond helping her daughters Violet and Seraphina rack up profits outside retail shops. The caption and hashtags on that 2018 Instagram photo above read as follows: “Why yes, kind sir, we do have Thin Mints. #tistheseason #comeandgetem #whodoesntloveagirlscout.”
Not to be left out, when Chris Rock hosted the Oscars in 2016, he sold $65,243 worth of Girl Scout Cookies to hungry nominees in the audience.

The annual Girl Scout Cookie sales serve various purposes, from teaching young girls entrepreneurship to funding activities for their troops throughout the year (proceeds stay within the community).

As for us, Parentology is looking up the digits of our local Girl Scouts in the thick of this year’s sales. What we’re requesting? “Thin Mints, Minty Middle.”
