Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, as translated in English, is observed October 31 to November 2. This Mexican holiday honors and celebrates the lives of loved ones who’ve passed away. Let’s Go Luna has an episode dedicated to explaining the celebration, which you can watch right here on Parentology.
The PBS show follows the adventures of three friends: Australian wombat Leo, Mexican butterfly Carmen, and American frog Andy. The trio travels the globe — from London to Beijing — in their parents’ performing troupe, “Circo Fabuloso.” At every stop, Luna the Moon serves as a tour guide for the crew as they learn about the local region and its people.
In the Let’s Go Luna episode dedicated to Día de los Muertos, Carmen attends a Day of the Dead festival. Here, she faces, and overcomes, her fear of skeletons while relaying the celebration’s customs.
