It’s finally time to ditch the viral challenges involving ingesting nutmeg or purposely peeing your pants. A new viral trend is calling for people to use makeup to dramatically alter their facial features. The challenge, dubbed the “tiny face makeup challenge,” requires people to make a miniature face on the top half of their faces.
The recent trend started with YouTuber and make-up artist Jamie French when she uploaded an eight-minute video explaining the process of painting on a tiny face onto her own. She painted a smaller nose on her nose bridge and painted bright, red lips onto the tip on her nose. She covered the lower half of her face with a cloth to complete the illusion of a tiny face.

In her YouTube video, French mentions that she had first seen the challenge done by someone else on TikTok. She asked her viewers to send her the video if they managed to find it.
When she posted her complete look to Twitter, she nominated fellow beauty influencer and YouTuber Raw Beauty Kristi.
While French’s recent video made the trend go viral this week, many people are speaking out to credit other people that have done the challenge before French did. French addressed the backlash, describing the challenge as just another technique that makeup artists use. Other YouTubers, like Kristen Leanne, joined in one the challenge.
