We cover a lot of TikTok videos on Parentology. Normally they’re informative, to let parents know about dangerous, sexy, and even silly things happening on social media that they should know about. But this video of a toddler critiquing her mom’s makeup job had us laughing — and we needed to share it with you.
About This Video
We know that kids are brutally honest. Heck, there was even the TV show Kids Say the Darndest Things, which made a fortune off that concept. (And was able to come back with new host Tiffany Haddish, despite the show’s history of having Bill Cosby hosting for many years.) But this video — while cute — does leave us guessing as to its authenticity.
We do believe the child’s reaction was real, it’s the mom whose delivery feels a little forced. We’re not acting coaches, but her delivery doesn’t feel as genuine. As with many viral TikTok videos, what you see isn’t always the first take. In fact, TikTok influencers tend to shoot many different versions before cropping, editing, and filtering the video so that they look and sound their very best.
In this case, we suspect that the incident happened, and the mom realized how cute and funny it was. So, with that in mind, she set her phone up and repeated the moment, having her toddler repeat her comment about the mom’s makeup again. With someone so young, the delivery often feels organic each time. For adults? Not so much.

The sexy “Buss It” challenge is on fire right now, and the “Talk to Me Boy” trend turns nerds into hotties. But if you’ve done the Sexy Silhouette Challenge be warned — it could land you more exposed than you expect.
