Yabba-Dabba Dinosaurs trailer
Here’s how the press release from HBO describes the series:
Best friends Pebbles Flintstone and Bamm-Bamm Rubble are two kids from the town of Bedrock, a modern Stone Age civilization where dinosaurs are domesticated and helpful, including their lovable and loyal pet Dino. But the real “yabba dabba doo” times are had in the open wilderness outside of Bedrock city limits in a place they call The Crags! There, Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm meet a never-ending roster of prehistoric pals and explore environments that are as wild, colorful, and surprising as the dinosaurs who live there.
Some Cartoon History
Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm came to fame as precocious toddlers on The Flintstone. The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show was the first spin-off TV series, and it followed the theatrical film The Man Called Flintstone in 1966. Animation legends Joe Ruby and Ken Spears, creators of Scooby-Doo, Where are You! and countless other classics, served as story editors on this series.
The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show centered on the two as teenagers who began dating each other while attending Bedrock High School and getting their first jobs. Sally Struthers (Gloria from All in the Family) voiced Pebbles, while Jay North (the original Dennis the Menace) played Bamm-Bamm. They also formed a musical band called the Bedrock Rockers, which was considered an attempt to be the “Stone Age” version of Josie and the Pussycats, The Archies, and countless other Hanna-Barbera cartoons of the period.
Here’s a trailer to remind you of the fun. You can also fall into a YouTube tunnel of their music videos if you have the time.
